About the role#
The Production Associate High School Co-op program at GE Aerospace offers students hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, this role provides exposure to the production of gas turbine engine ignition systems, sensors, and electronic components. You will work alongside technicians, operators, and engineers to learn the fundamentals of aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and quality processes.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced technicians, operators, and engineers to observe the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished products.
- Observe safety, quality checks, and documentation procedures.
- Participate in team huddles and production meetings to see how daily priorities and problem-solving are handled.
- Assist with simple data collection and tracking tasks, such as recording counts or basic observations.
- Learn to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment like calipers and scales.
- Support assembly tasks, including wire cutting and crimping, under supervision.
- Maintain an organized workspace and follow established work instructions.
What you'll need#
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Current enrollment in a Vocational Technical High School or CTE program.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to pass a standard eye exam if required.
- Must meet U.S. Person status requirements for access to export-controlled information.
