About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience in the manufacturing of gas turbine engine ignition systems, sensors, and electronic components. You will work within the Jacksonville facility to learn assembly, inspection techniques, and the fundamentals of production flow. This role is designed for students interested in a career in aerospace manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Shadow technicians, operators, and engineers to understand how parts move from raw materials to finished products.
- Observe safety protocols, quality checks, and documentation procedures.
- Attend team huddles and production meetings to see how daily priorities and problems are addressed.
- Help with data collection and tracking tasks, such as recording counts or times.
- Learn to use hand tools and measuring equipment like calipers and scales.
- Assist with basic assembly tasks, including wire cutting and crimping.
- Maintain an organized workspace and follow established work instructions.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Current enrollment in a Vocational Technical High School or CTE program.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and pass a standard eye exam if required.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- You must be a U.S. Person, as this role requires access to export-controlled information.
