About the role#
This position is a Military DoD SkillBridge internship designed for active-duty service members during their final 180 days of service. Participants gain civilian work experience through industry training while continuing to receive military compensation and benefits. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and corrective maintenance repairs on commercial jet engine test cell equipment.
- Analyze equipment failures and document findings.
- Operate specialized equipment and assist with the setup, installation, and calibration of instrumentation.
- Contribute to the investigation and correction of system malfunctions.
- Assist with safety and environmental inspections to ensure facility compliance.
- Participate in multi-skills development and work within a self-directed team environment.
What you'll need#
- Active military status within the last 180 days of service.
- An associate degree in a technical field, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of technical experience.
- Ability to interpret building drawings, electrical schematics, and mechanical schematics.
- Physical capability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and work at heights or in high-noise environments.
- Willingness to work weekend shifts and overtime as required.
- Status as a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) to meet U.S. export-control requirements.
