About the role#
This clinical placement offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dialysis health care team. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. This role is part-time and based on-site in Linden, New Jersey.
What you'll do#
- Conduct nutrition interviews with patients.
- Calculate diet prescription recommendations and provide counseling to patients and caregivers.
- Collect data for initial, 90 day, semi-annual, and annual Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments.
- Assist with the development and implementation of nutrition plans of care.
- Review monthly nutrition data with patients and practice writing progress notes.
- Create nutrition projects for patients or staff, such as educational handouts or lobby activities.
- Attend Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement and other interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Support the mission, vision, and core values of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Dietetic Internship or a university-based Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by ACEND.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- A strong desire to deliver superior patient care.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
