About the role#
As a Student Nurse Intern, you work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide medical treatment and personal care to hospital and outpatient patients. This role allows you to gain hands-on clinical experience while developing the skills necessary for a future RN position. You may be scheduled for days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call hours.
What you'll do#
- Collect patient data and document findings in the medical record.
- Assist physicians and RNs during medical procedures.
- Review physician orders, lab requests, and patient follow-up needs.
- Provide treatments to patients within your scope of practice.
- Observe patients and report any adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the RN.
- Maintain unit supplies by scanning, stocking, ordering, and disposing of expired or damaged items.
- Float to various hospital units based on clinical needs.
- Participate in department and unit performance improvement activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited, or accredited eligible, RN program.
- Academic good standing with no more than two semesters remaining until program completion.
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Approved CPR or BLS certification, which must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic computer skills.
