About the role#
This is a student nurse intern position for the Labor and Delivery and Mother-Baby units at Javon Bea Hospital. You will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to gain clinical experience. This is a paid, PRN role that requires you to float to various units based on patient needs.
What you'll do#
- Collect and document patient data in the medical record within your scope of practice.
- Assist physicians and nurses with medical procedures.
- Review physician orders, lab requests, and follow-up needs with patients.
- Provide treatments as ordered and document the care provided.
- Observe patients and report any adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the RN.
- Manage unit supplies by stocking, ordering, and disposing of expired or damaged items.
- Participate in department and unit performance improvement activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited or accredited-eligible Registered Nurse program.
- You must be in academic good standing.
- You should have no more than two semesters remaining until program completion.
- CPR or BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Basic computer skills are helpful for this role.
