About the role#
As a Manufacturing Test Software Intern, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software. You will develop tools that enable the production of professional 3D printers. This role involves building software that supports calibration, manufacturing, and data analysis behind the scenes.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain software tools to support calibration, validation, and testing of electromechanical and robotic systems.
- Manage requirements and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver testing solutions.
- Perform hardware modifications to printers and test setups.
- Own the full lifecycle of the test tools ecosystem from design to maintenance.
- Use data science to analyze production lines and provide insights.
- Improve development and deployment processes to streamline software releases.
What you'll need#
- Experience developing applications using Python, SQL, and Linux.
- Strong understanding of software integration with embedded systems.
- Knowledge of engineering for complex electromechanical systems.
- Experience with robotics.
- Ability to take features from initial concept through design and implementation.
- A knack for finding creative solutions to difficult real world problems.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience working in manufacturing is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Somerville, Massachusetts (On-site).
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid, salaried role with a weekly pay range of $1,850 to $2,250 USD.
