    About the role#

    As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will join our team to support the development of 3D printing hardware. You will work on complex electromechanical subsystems, contributing to the design and refinement of products that reach real customers. This role involves a mix of hands-on hardware work, firmware development, and independent problem solving within an interdisciplinary team.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, prototype, and validate electronics and electromechanical subsystems.
    • Collaborate with other engineers to define system requirements and make design decisions.
    • Conduct independent research and development on hardware components.
    • Assemble and debug PCBs.
    • Write and maintain test scripts to ensure system reliability.

    What you'll need#

    • Experience with soldering and prototyping your own designs.
    • Comfort working across both analog and digital systems.
    • Experience with microcontrollers, including programming in C.
    • Ability to develop test scripts using Python.
    • A portfolio of previous engineering work or projects is required for your application.
    • Pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.

    Location & details#

    • This internship is based on-site in Somerville, Massachusetts.
    • The term is for Winter 2027 (January through May).
    • This is a full-time, paid position.
    • We do not offer housing or relocation assistance for this role.
