About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Engineering Co-Op position for the Fall 2026 term. You will work with the AddUp engineering team to develop skills in material testing, additive manufacturing design, and problem solving. You will apply these skills to real projects using Laser Powder Bed Fusion and complete a short capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the engineering team on material testing and development.
- Apply design principles for additive manufacturing.
- Perform project-specific material characterization.
- Utilize Laser Powder Bed Fusion technology on active projects.
- Complete a capstone project during downtime.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in materials, mechanical, metallurgical, chemical, civil, electrical, or biomedical engineering, or physics, chemistry, or mathematics.
- Completed 1 to 3 years of your degree program.
- Required coursework: Introduction to Materials, Engineering Math/Calculus 1, Introduction to Chemistry, and a laboratory class.
- Desired experience includes material testing principles, metallography, physics, thermodynamics, mechanics of materials, and basic design principles.
- Proficiency in tools such as SolidWorks, optical microscopy, and dimensional testing equipment is a plus.
