Co-Op: Electrical Engineering 1 1

About the role#

This co-op position offers exposure to the engineering design process at Fives Machining Systems, Inc. Students will take on assignments of increasing scope and responsibility, gaining practical experience with machine tool products through design, assembly, and testing.

What you'll do#

• Design and analyze machine tool products.
• Perform follow-up tasks during assembly and unit or prototype testing in lab environments and on the production shop floor.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams.
• Conduct root cause problem analysis and failure modes and effects analysis.
• Engage in continuous improvement and customer satisfaction activities.
• Assist with design review techniques and hazard analysis.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering program.
• Ability to understand design input requirements.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Experience with design verification and validation testing.
• Capability to analyze designs at both the subsystem and system levels.
• Experience interfacing with Controls Electrical engineering teams.
• Knowledge of drafting practices, standards, and Bill of Material creation.
