About the role#
This co-op position offers exposure to the engineering design process through assignments of increasing scope and responsibility. You will work on machine tool products at the Fives Cincinnati facility, gaining hands-on experience in both lab environments and on the production shop floor.
What you'll do#
- Design and analyze machine tool products.
- Perform follow-up tasks during assembly and unit or prototype testing.
- Conduct failure modes and effects analysis and root cause problem analysis.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams.
- Engage in continuous improvement and customer satisfaction activities.
- Utilize design review and hazard analysis techniques.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to understand design input requirements.
- Experience with subsystem and system level design analysis.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
- Skills in design verification and validation testing.
- Experience interfacing with controls and electrical engineering teams.
- Knowledge of drafting practices, standards, and bill of material creation.
