About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op supports the development and optimization of manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. This role works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, support new product launches, and maintain operational standards.
What you'll do#
- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Provide daily technical support to production operations and troubleshoot process or equipment issues.
- Create and update process documentation, including work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, recommend improvement strategies, and track key performance indicators.
- Support assembly and engineering teams on new machine and retrofit build processes to ensure manufacturability.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and participate in capital project planning.
- Maintain facility layouts using CAD software to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Assist with part identification, sourcing, and alternative commercial part verification.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Two or more years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with CAD software, industrial automation, and manufacturing equipment.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
