About the role#
Fidelity is looking for a Quantitative Research Intern to join the Multi Asset Systematic Strategies team. You will contribute to the research, development, and implementation of systematic investment strategies involving equity index futures, sovereign bond futures, commodity futures, and currencies. This role focuses on alpha generation, portfolio construction, and risk management. You will work alongside portfolio managers and researchers to enhance investment processes for mutual funds and client portfolios.
What you'll do#
- Partner with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and analysts to conduct investment and market research.
- Research and develop systematic investment strategies, asset allocation frameworks, and portfolio construction methodologies.
- Enhance quantitative models, research tools, and risk management capabilities.
- Monitor academic research and industry developments related to alternative risk premia, quantitative investing, and portfolio management.
- Analyze large datasets and apply quantitative techniques to generate research insights and investment recommendations.
- Present research findings and recommendations to portfolio managers and other stakeholders.
- Communicate complex quantitative concepts and research conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll need#
- Master's or PhD student in financial mathematics, engineering, science, or a related quantitative field.
- Anticipated graduation date in late 2027 or early 2028.
- Working knowledge of Python and SQL.
- Experience with conducting financial analysis such as back-testing and computing statistical measures.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg or FactSet.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach to teamwork.
- Familiarity with cash and derivative instruments including equities, fixed income, futures, forwards, swaps, and options is desirable.

- Compensation: $50 to $77 per hour.
