About the role#
Fidelity is looking for a Quantitative Research Intern to join the Fixed Income team within the Quantitative Research and Investments division. You will work alongside portfolio managers, traders, and other quantitative researchers to build tools and models that support the investment process. This position is part of the Asset Management internship program, which includes mentorship and hands-on project work. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop quantitative techniques, models, and tools to enhance investment strategies.
- Maintain and improve the analytical infrastructure used by the investment team.
- Collaborate with investment and technology professionals across the division.
- Create and communicate well-researched investment recommendations.
- Explain complex quantitative concepts to audiences without a technical background.
- Take initiative to advance investment research and internal processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master's or PhD program, graduating in late 2027 or early 2028.
- A degree in financial mathematics, engineering, science, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with fixed income markets and analytics.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and a structured approach to thinking.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
- A strong interest in financial markets and investing.
- Integrity, creativity, and the ability to make independent decisions.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Merrimack, New Hampshire.
- Internship dates are June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
