About the role#
Webber is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to join our Heavy Civil division. This position offers hands-on experience through a 12-week program focused on safety, surveying, estimating, and project supervision. You will work directly on job sites to support our engineering and operations teams.
What you'll do#
- Learn to conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Hazard Safety Observations.
- Apply required Personal Protective Equipment and perform jobsite audits to prevent safety incidents.
- Interpret project plans and assist with site layouts.
- Survey for quantities and practice accurate conversion methods.
- Estimate labor hours and material requirements for production.
- Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Science/Management.
- Strong understanding of Construction Math concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Manual dexterity to handle equipment and materials.
- Physical ability to work in a field-based construction environment.
