About the role#
The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, paid position offers students the chance to work alongside economists and research analysts to gain practical experience within the Research department. Interns will contribute to projects that support the Bank's monetary policy responsibilities and gain exposure to the operations of a central bank.
What you'll do#
- Produce academically respected economic research in various areas of the field.
- Monitor and report on regional and national economic trends.
- Craft public communications regarding economic issues.
- Model complex economic systems and evaluate economic information.
- Analyze data while developing your programming and technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- Working knowledge of statistics packages or programming languages such as Stata, MATLAB, R, or Python.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Prior research experience in economics is strongly preferred.
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or green card status.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Cleveland, Ohio.
- The internship is a full-time, 40-hour per week commitment for 10 to 12 weeks.
- The term runs between June and September 2027, depending on your schedule.
