About the role#
The New York Innovation Center (NYIC) conducts research, experimentation, and prototyping to explore high-value opportunities for central banking. As a graduate intern within the Markets Group, you will join a team of researchers, analysts, and technologists. This ten-week program focuses on examining the potential applications of new financial technologies and informing strategic objectives.
What you'll do#
- Conduct technical and market research to identify emerging technologies relevant to central banking.
- Analyze data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for new technology applications.
- Collaborate with team members to develop business cases, implementation plans, and key metrics.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate research findings.
- Support the NYIC team in aligning on strategic objectives and achieving key outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree with an expected graduation between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, specifically Python, R, or SQL.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies and analytical techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in New York, NY.
- The program duration is ten weeks during Summer 2027.
- Applicants must meet specific residency or citizenship requirements to access confidential supervisory and Federal Open Market Committee information.
