About the role#
This paid internship program provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students with direct exposure to the operations of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. You will engage in project-based assignments and professional development activities while gaining insights into the Federal Reserve System.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to your assigned department.
- Build professional relationships with subject matter experts, bank leadership, and fellow interns.
- Participate in organized professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited program with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present information verbally and respond to questions.
- Ability to interpret data and analytics to support decision-making.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated work ethic.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks.
- Compensation: $20 to $33 per hour, based on academic level.
- Note: This position requires additional screening, including education and employment verification, criminal and credit history checks, and reference checks. Employees must comply with bank ethics rules regarding the ownership of certain securities.
