About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience in agricultural lending and crop insurance. You will work full-time across various regional offices in Illinois to learn how a financial cooperative supports farm families and rural landowners. This is a paid position that requires travel and periodic relocation throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Explore career paths in agricultural sales through job shadowing.
- Complete projects focused on business development and member service.
- Prospect for new customers and assist with loan submissions.
- Help process acreage reports.
- Attend sales training sessions and participate in team-building activities.
- Collaborate with regional teams to develop problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Work with a mentor to learn about the agricultural industry in central and southern Illinois.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
- Intent to remain enrolled as a student in Fall 2027.
- Preferred majors include business administration, economics, agricultural business, or agricultural economics.
Location & details#
- Location: Multiple regional offices throughout Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17, 2027, to August 5, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Modality: On-site with required relocation every few weeks.
