About the role#
Farm Credit Illinois is hiring Generalist Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based at our headquarters in Mahomet, Illinois. You will rotate through various departments to gain hands-on experience in agricultural finance and business operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete projects and job shadowing across departments like sales, credit, appraisal, and business optimization.
- Contribute to actual business needs using your communication and Microsoft Office skills.
- Learn the life cycle of a loan, including credit analysis and the application of the 5 C's of credit.
- Participate in a mentor program and team-building activities.
- Develop your knowledge of the agricultural industry in central and southern Illinois.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
- Intent to remain enrolled as a student in Fall 2027.
- Motivation to learn and contribute to the team.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Agriculture.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in Mahomet, Illinois.
- The term runs from May 17, 2027, through August 5, 2027.
- Work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- This role requires occasional travel across the southern 60 counties of Illinois.
- Summer housing in or around Champaign County is required.
