About the role#
Farm Bureau Financial Services offers an accounting internship for students to gain experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. This role provides exposure to our accounting and reinsurance systems, along with tools like Microsoft Power Platform and CoPilot. You will participate in corporate activities designed to introduce you to our culture, leadership, and business operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis for the PC Companies.
- Support month-end processes, including preparing loss analytics and updating catastrophe loss metrics.
- Help with settlements, individual claim billings, and receipts.
- Research non-storm events such as wildfires and winter storms.
- Participate in corporate activities for industry and organizational exposure.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore or junior status working toward a bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and a sense of initiative.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

- Location: West Des Moines, IA (On-site).
- Terms: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, and Fall 2027.
- Status: Paid, full-time position.
