About the role#
This is a full-time, 12-week internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on the Investment Accounting team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is on-site. You will gain exposure to senior management and work on real projects while developing your skills in the property and casualty insurance market.
What you'll do#
- Monitor daily and month-to-date investment activity using the Clearwater tool.
- Assist in summarizing information for the weekly portfolio overview.
- Prepare monthly investment reconciliations, including custodian, Clearwater, and Workday reconciliations.
- Prepare and post monthly investment journal entries on a GAAP and statutory basis for six insurance companies.
- Coordinate with banks and state insurance departments for investment transactions and account maintenance.
- Maintain procedural documentation for your assigned tasks.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are a current junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting or Finance.
- You have completed introductory accounting and finance courses and understand the basic principles.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You are efficient, accurate, and responsible.
- You are motivated to take on new challenges and learn.
- Interest in the property and casualty insurance market is preferred.
- Candidates pursuing a CPA are preferred.
- You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
