About the role#
Core Specialty Insurance Holdings is looking for an Actuarial Data Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago. You will work directly with our actuarial teams, gaining exposure to real-world insurance projects while receiving guidance as you progress through your actuarial exams.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to various actuarial teams.
- Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and within deadlines.
- Standardize ad hoc processes to improve performance.
- Develop data processing pipelines.
- Use various technologies to answer business questions.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated progress in understanding and applying basic actuarial principles.
- Studying for CAS preliminary exams, with 1-2 passed exams strongly preferred.
- Experience with Excel.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Ability to learn and apply technical concepts.
- Ownership of tasks and the ability to prioritize work with guidance.
- A positive attitude toward feedback and the ability to adapt based on prior mistakes.
- Interest in the insurance industry.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
