About the role#
Exos offers a 12-16 week learning intensive internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in a corporate wellness environment. Interns work alongside human performance professionals to gain practical knowledge of the Exos Methodology. This role requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and is conducted on-site with a client in San Diego, California.
What you'll do#
- Develop and refine coaching skills by shadowing and observing experienced professionals.
- Conduct fitness tests and evaluations for individuals and groups of various fitness levels.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of health promotion and incentive programs.
- Provide safe and effective exercise programs and group exercise sessions.
- Participate in weekly educational sessions, including lectures, presentations, and practicums.
- Engage in practical training on movement skills, applications, and program design.
- Complete self-paced learning modules and gain exposure to high-risk member management and injury prevention.
- Gain the opportunity to earn the Exos Fitness Specialist Certification (XFS).
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or a related field.
- Enrollment in an academic program that provides course credit for the internship experience.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
- A passion for working with active and athletic populations.

- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Interns are responsible for securing and funding their own housing, travel, relocation, food, and transportation costs.
