About the role#
The Strategic Security Office at Ericsson is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for a 12-week summer program based in Plano, Texas. You will work with experienced professionals to gain practical experience in security governance, product and telecom security, supply-chain risk, and regulatory compliance. This role provides exposure to 5G, cloud-native networks, Zero Trust Architecture, and AI security. You will contribute to initiatives that support the delivery of secure products and services.
What you'll do#
- Use approved AI and automation tools to assist with security planning, documentation, and compliance assessments.
- Organize security metrics, recommendations, and progress updates for stakeholders.
- Research and summarize cybersecurity regulations, government guidance, and emerging threats.
- Map security requirements to internal frameworks and identify gaps in processes.
- Assist in preparing customer security responses, audits, and assurance materials.
- Analyze and visualize security information for risk discussions and roadmap decisions.
- Maintain security reference materials and reusable responses.
- Complete a small improvement project and present the results.
- Support reviews of secure development, vulnerability management, and supply-chain risk.
- Collaborate with security, technology, product, sales, and delivery teams.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, or mathematics.
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity and exposure to risk, security controls, or vulnerability management.
- Introductory awareness of frameworks like NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, and OWASP Top 10.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and AI security concepts.
- Ability to summarize research, check sources, and handle information responsibly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A collaborative and curious approach to working across teams.
- A minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 12-week internship.
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, master’s, or PhD program.
