About the role#
Equality Florida is hiring a Community Organizing Fellow for the Fall 2026 term in Tampa. This is a paid, part-time fellowship requiring a 12-hour weekly commitment. The role is hybrid, consisting of virtual work supplemented by in-person field actions.
What you'll do#
- Identify local progressive and LGBTQ events to increase our visibility.
- Recruit and train volunteers.
- Build relationships within the community and collect stories.
- Mobilize members to attend field events.
- Manage and participate in field events alongside the Field Organizer.
- Assist in efforts toward the approval and passage of pro-equality policies.
What you'll need#
- Experience with event planning and organizing.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- A reliable laptop and smartphone.
- Availability to work occasional weeknights and weekends.
- Majors in Political Science, Sociology, or Communications are preferred.
