About the role#
EMS-Tech is hiring a Mechanical Engineering student for a co-op internship starting in May 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Belleville, Ontario. We are looking for someone willing to commit to a 12 to 14-month term. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Take conceptual designs and complete the necessary analysis and calculation details.
- Build your 2D and 3D CAD drafting skills while producing drawings that meet company standards.
- Gain exposure to our equipment, systems, and specific methods of analysis and design.
- Learn to size and select mechanical components like bearings, gearboxes, shafting, and hydraulic systems.
- Develop hand calculation methods as your primary analysis tool.
- Use spreadsheet programs to build your analytical capabilities.
- Prepare and check general arrangement and detailed drawings.
- Apply engineering science to your daily tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising Mechanical Engineering student in your 3rd or 4th year.
- You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- You demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
- You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- You are able to communicate clearly across different business units and management levels.
Location & details#
- Location: Belleville, Ontario.
- Term: May 2027 to May 2028, with the possibility of extension up to 14 months.
- Work Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $23 - $27 per hour.
