About the role#
This is a paid summer internship for 2027 within the South Central regional underwriting department. You will learn about EMC business processes, products, and the insurance underwriting process while gaining experience in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist underwriters in gathering information to evaluate new business and renewal submissions.
- Communicate with agents and external sources.
- Learn about the company culture and internal business operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing.
- Completion of junior year is preferred.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- An interest in a career within property casualty insurance.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and clear verbal and written communication.
- Basic computer skills for risk analysis.

- This position is based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The role follows a hybrid work schedule.
