About the role#
This position is the entry level for the Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Analyst track. You will work under general supervision to solve problems within a specific area of specialization. This role is designed for students to develop professional skills and gain experience working with increased independence. You will support our team in maintaining secure systems while learning fundamental concepts and procedures.
What you'll do#
- Assist in solving cybersecurity governance problems.
- Conduct audits and reviews of technical systems.
- Perform impact and risk assessments.
- Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support.
- Support necessary compliance activities, including monitoring system security configurations.
- Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
- Research current technology to understand system and network capabilities.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and methods for assessing risk.
- Ability to evaluate and synthesize large quantities of data.
- Skills in validating compliance against regulations, laws, and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with supervisory review.
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in utility, cybersecurity, auditing, or compliance-related fields.
