About the role#
Ithaca College is hiring students to serve as Intramural Officials. You will officiate various sporting events, including basketball, flag football, volleyball, and soccer. This role focuses on enforcing rules fairly and maintaining a positive experience for all participants.
What you'll do#
- Attend mandatory training sessions for specific sports to prepare for the season.
- Enforce game rules and intramural policies during games and tournaments.
- Keep up to date with rule interpretations and staff updates to ensure consistent application during league play.
- Communicate clearly with players, colleagues, and supervisors about schedules and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor game conditions and enforce safety protocols to protect participants.
- Promote good sportsmanship and ethical behavior on the field.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of sports equipment as needed.
What you'll need#
- A solid understanding of the rules and strategies for intramural activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The physical ability to remain on your feet and move across the field or court for the duration of a game.
- Availability to work shifts during evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Previous experience officiating is helpful but not required.

- This position is located in Ithaca, New York.
- The role is on-site and paid at a rate of $16.00 per hour.
