About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the Dominion Energy South Carolina Transmission Operations Center. You will work on-site in Cayce, South Carolina, during the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Plan and analyze electric transmission system facility outages.
- Prepare and maintain operator displays.
- Assist with operator training programs.
- Support various control room projects.
- Contribute to Renewable Operations initiatives.
- Perform field work as required, which may involve travel and working outside of standard business hours.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET Accredited Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- An expected graduation date of 2028 or later.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn and use AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the work location.
- The physical ability to move about freely to perform field work.
