About the role#
The Electric Distribution Dispatch Intern works with Electric Distribution Operators to support the operation of the electric distribution system. This role offers hands-on experience with utility operations, outage management, and the technologies used to maintain the grid. You will assist with daily monitoring and coordination tasks in a control center environment.
What you'll do#
- Monitor distribution system data using OMS and SCADA platforms under operator guidance.
- Log system events, equipment status changes, and operational activities.
- Support operators in identifying and prioritizing outage restoration efforts.
- Update the real-time status of devices within the Outage Management System.
- Shadow operators during coordination with field crews.
- Analyze fault data, load trends, and equipment alarms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate's degree program in applied sciences, electronics engineering technology, mechatronics, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Graduation from your associate's program in 2028.
- Knowledge of basic AC/DC electrical theory and circuit fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and single-line drawings.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions with high accuracy.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $24.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
