About the role#
Dee Zee, Inc. is looking for a Process Engineering Intern to work on manufacturing process improvement, risk reduction, and operational efficiency. You will gain hands-on experience by working on engineering projects that support quality, safety, and productivity on the plant floor.
What you'll do#
- Review high-risk failure modes and their detection or prevention controls to ensure proper risk reduction for customers.
- Develop shared loading and capacity overviews for equipment and tooling based on historical production and future projections.
- Conduct time studies and process reviews to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, cycle times, and operator requirements.
- Create, review, and update work instructions to support training and consistent operations.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to process and quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
What you'll need#
- You are a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a manufacturing environment with exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and variable temperatures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with data analysis or CAD software is a plus.
- Ability to take direction, work independently, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
