About the role#
Dayton Freight Lines is hiring a part-time Human Resources Intern to work on-site at our Dayton, Ohio office. This is a year-round position that requires availability during both the school year and the summer. We provide a professional work environment with a focus on training and development.
What you'll do#
You will support our HR team with daily operations and administrative tasks. Your work includes:
- Assisting with HR and benefits tasks.
- Filing and organizing investigative files.
- Printing and distributing employee handbooks and orientation materials.
- Managing returned mail via our internal truck mail system.
- Handling HR-related phone calls and emails.
- Documenting internal processes and procedures.
- Running and auditing reports for the Employee Relations Department.
- Preparing for meetings and handling company announcements.
- Working on special projects and suggesting process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in Human Resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Availability to work 20 to 25 hours per week during the school year.
