About the role#
As a Software Developer in Test Intern at Dayforce, you will join an engineering team to contribute to the development of enterprise-scale cloud software. You will work alongside experienced developers, test engineers, product managers, and UX designers to gain hands-on experience across the entire software development lifecycle. You will receive mentorship while contributing to real product features, troubleshooting issues, and learning how to build reliable, high-quality software.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software features and solutions.
- Write clean, readable, and well-tested code.
- Work cross-functionally with team members to deliver product experiences.
- Contribute to new product capabilities, enhancements, and maintenance.
- Participate in design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Investigate software defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolutions.
- Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration tests.
- Work with technologies such as APIs, databases, cloud services, and web applications.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to engineering practices, tooling, and process improvements.
- Help ensure software is reliably built and delivered through modern pipelines.
- Explore emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience from coursework, personal projects, internships, hackathons, or open-source contributions.
- Familiarity with languages such as C#, Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with debugging, testing, and version control.
- Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile team.
- Excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to August 2027).
- Modality: Remote.
- Status: Full-time (37.5 to 40 hours weekly).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
