About the role#
As an engineering intern, you will contribute to projects involving naval construction, repair, and modernization. You will work on tasks related to your field of study and organizational needs. This role allows you to apply your knowledge and learn about the operational realities of a shipyard. You will report to the Planning Director.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze technical or operational information from various stakeholders.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of projects.
- Analyze plans, specifications, data, processes, and work methods.
- Prepare and update technical documentation, including procedures, reports, and tracking tools.
- Research and implement technical, digital, or operational solutions.
- Support the analysis of needs for resources, materials, equipment, and systems.
- Conduct on-site surveys, validations, tests, and measurements.
- Collaborate with teams in engineering, production, procurement, IT, quality, health-safety, and maintenance.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational problems.
- Track work progress and identify required adjustments.
- Propose improvements to existing processes, tools, and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university program for mechanical, electrical, industrial, computer, or software engineering, or computer science.
- Curiosity, rigor, autonomy, and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to solve problems and synthesize information.
- Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Interest in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Functional knowledge of French and English to consult technical documentation.
- Must be currently studying and the internship must be recognized by your educational institution.
- Must pass an investigation process to obtain security clearance under the federal government's Contract Security Program.
