About the role#
As an engineering intern, you will contribute to projects involving the construction, repair, and modernization of ships. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to analyze needs, gather information, and support project execution. Depending on your background and current organizational needs, you may be placed in departments such as engineering, procurement, production, planning, quality, or maintenance. This role reports to the Project Management manager.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze technical or operational information from various stakeholders.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of project activities.
- Review plans, specifications, data, and work methods.
- Prepare and update technical documentation, including reports, procedures, and tracking tools.
- Research and implement technical or operational solutions.
- Support the analysis of resource, material, and equipment needs.
- Conduct field measurements, validations, and observations on-site.
- Collaborate with teams in engineering, production, IT, quality, health and safety, and maintenance.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational issues.
- Monitor project progress and identify necessary adjustments.
- Propose improvements to existing processes, tools, and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Curiosity, rigor, and an analytical mindset.
- Strong problem-solving and synthesis skills.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks or projects at once.
- Interest in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Adaptability and a desire to learn in a practical environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Functional knowledge of French and English, specifically for reading technical documentation.
