About the role#
As an engineering intern at Davie, you will contribute to projects involving naval construction, repair, and modernization. You will work under the supervision of the Estimation manager. Depending on your field of study and organizational needs, you may integrate into departments such as engineering, procurement, production, planning, quality, or maintenance. This role allows you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world shipyard operations.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze technical or operational information from various stakeholders.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of projects.
- Analyze plans, specifications, data, processes, and operational needs.
- Prepare and structure technical documentation, including reports, work plans, and tracking tools.
- Research and implement technical or operational solutions.
- Support the analysis of resource, material, and equipment requirements.
- Perform site surveys, validations, tests, and observations.
- Collaborate with teams across engineering, production, procurement, IT, quality, and health and safety.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational issues.
- Track project progress and identify necessary adjustments.
- Propose improvements to existing processes, tools, and methods.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for mechanical, electrical, industrial, computer, or software engineering, or a related field.
- Curiosity, rigor, autonomy, and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to solve problems and synthesize information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Interest in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Functional knowledge of French and English, specifically for reading technical documentation.

- Requirement: The internship must be recognized by your educational institution. You must pass a security clearance process for the federal government's Contract Security Program.
