About the role#
As an engineering intern, you will contribute to projects involving the construction, repair, and modernization of ships. You may work within various departments such as engineering, supply chain, IT, production, planning, quality, or maintenance. This role allows you to apply your academic knowledge to real operations at a shipyard while developing your technical expertise alongside experienced teams.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze technical or operational information.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and tracking of projects.
- Review plans, specifications, data, and work methods.
- Prepare and update technical documentation, including reports, procedures, and work plans.
- Research and implement technical or operational solutions.
- Assist with the analysis of needs for resources, equipment, systems, or services.
- Conduct site visits, validations, tests, and measurements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical problems.
- Track work progress and identify necessary adjustments.
- Propose improvements to existing processes and contribute to standardization initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer, or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis skills.
- Ability to organize priorities and manage multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Functional knowledge of both French and English to handle technical documentation.
- A curious, rigorous, and autonomous approach to work.
- Ability to obtain security clearance through the federal government contract security program.
