About the role#
As an engineering intern, you will contribute to projects involving the construction, repair, and modernization of naval vessels. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to analyze needs, gather information, and support project delivery. This role allows you to apply your academic knowledge while learning about the operational realities of a shipyard. You will report to the Project Control Director and may be integrated into departments such as engineering, procurement, IT, production, planning, or maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze technical or operational information from various stakeholders.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of project activities.
- Analyze plans, specifications, data, processes, and work methods.
- Prepare and update technical documentation, including procedures, work instructions, reports, and tracking tools.
- Research and implement technical or digital solutions.
- Support the analysis of requirements for resources, equipment, systems, or services.
- Perform site surveys, validations, tests, and measurements.
- Collaborate with teams across engineering, production, procurement, IT, quality, and maintenance.
- Help identify and resolve technical or operational issues.
- Track work progress and identify necessary adjustments.
- Propose improvements to existing processes, tools, and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the standardization of practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for mechanical, electrical, industrial, computer, or software engineering, or computer science.
- Curiosity, rigor, autonomy, and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to solve problems and synthesize information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
- Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Aptitude for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Adaptability and a desire to learn in a concrete environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Functional knowledge of French and English to consult technical documentation.

- Eligibility: You must be currently enrolled in a program where this internship is recognized by your educational institution. The successful candidate must pass a security screening process to obtain the required federal government security clearance.
