About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will work closely with the Business Unit Manager to optimize the shot peening process. This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Operate and maintain a 3D printer.
- Design and fabricate custom tooling using conventional methods and 3D printing.
- Create SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings.
- Identify opportunities for masking and general process improvements.
- Support machine improvements, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Research and procure materials from vendors.
- Potentially travel to other facilities for on-site work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Mechanical Engineering student, sophomore standing or higher.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in your major.
- CAD modeling experience, preferably with SolidWorks.
- 3D printing experience, specifically with Cura software.
- Practical design and build experience from robot teams, personal projects, or similar activities.
- Manual lathe and vertical mill experience is a plus.
