Engineer Intern

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time Engineering Intern position based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The intern will work closely with the Business Unit Manager to optimize shot peening processes through design and execution. This role involves hands-on technical work and may include travel to other facilities.

What you'll do#

• Operate and maintain a 3D printer.
• Design and fabricate custom tooling using both conventional methods and 3D printing.
• Create SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Identify opportunities for masking and general process improvements.
• Support machine repairs, troubleshooting, and general improvements.
• Research and procure materials from vendors.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program (sophomore standing or higher).
• A minimum 3.0 GPA in your major.
• Experience with CAD modeling, specifically SolidWorks.
• Practical experience with 3D printing and Cura software.
• Demonstrated design and build experience, such as participation in robotics teams or personal projects.
• Manual lathe and vertical mill experience is considered a plus.
