About the role#
We are looking for a student to join our 2nd Shift team in Fletcher, NC. You will work with the Housing Fabrication Welding and Machining team at the Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems plant. This is a paid, full-time position that offers flexibility to accommodate your class schedule.
What you'll do#
- Perform bracket welding and seam welding on housings.
- Complete necessary weld repairs.
- Apply high standards of craftsmanship to ensure quality and reliability.
- Participate in TPM teams and continuous improvement projects.
- Stop work and report any injury hazards immediately.
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, or incidents to maintain safety standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at BlueRidge Community College in a Welding or related program.
- Ability to work 2nd shift hours.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to apply this knowledge.
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control hazards.
- Commitment to proactive health and safety behaviors.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships.
- A self-starter mindset with good communication skills.
- A focus on achieving results and taking on new challenges.
Location & details#
- Location: Fletcher, North Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift premium.
- Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week with flexibility for your school schedule.
