About the role#
We are looking for a student to join our 3rd shift manufacturing team in Fletcher, North Carolina. This role supports the Drivetrain and Braking Systems plant by assisting with housing fabrication, welding, and machining projects. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience in a production environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform bracket and seam welding on housings.
- Complete necessary weld repairs.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and TPM teams to refine processes and material flow.
- Prioritize safety by identifying and reporting hazards, injuries, or incidents immediately.
- Implement changes to manufacturing processes to meet functional requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at BlueRidge Community College in a Welding or related program.
- Ability to work 3rd shift hours.
- Knowledge of health and safety fundamentals, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills and a self-starter mindset.
- Ability to drive results, act with urgency, and collaborate effectively with team members.
Location & details#
- Location: Fletcher, North Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate school schedules.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift premium.
- Employment Type: Full time.
