About the role#
This internship at Chesapeake Farms offers hands-on experience in agriculture, conservation, property management, and farm operations. You will work alongside professionals in Chestertown, Maryland, to support projects that improve farm facilities, wildlife habitats, and visitor experiences. This role provides exposure to strategic decision-making, mentorship from industry professionals, and a deeper understanding of modern agriculture.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily farming operations, field activities, and seasonal agricultural projects.
- Support research activities, demonstration plots, educational events, and field days.
- Participate in conservation initiatives and wildlife habitat management.
- Operate and maintain farm and grounds maintenance equipment under supervision.
- Support stewardship practices that improve sustainability, environmental conservation, and productivity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or MBA/master’s degree program in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
