About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will join the Constellium Automotive Group Engineering Team for the Summer 2027 term. You will support the Reliability Engineering Team and the Engineering and Maintenance Manager on operational and continuous improvement projects. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will work on individual and team assignments to improve equipment effectiveness, reliability, and overall manufacturing performance.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in initiatives to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Use Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving methods to drive improvements.
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
- Collect, organize, and analyze production, maintenance, and reliability data to identify trends.
- Present findings and recommended corrective actions to leadership.
- Create facility layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Conduct time studies on equipment and production cells to identify bottlenecks.
- Assist with ergonomics, safety evaluations, and process flow improvements.
- Audit Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities, production work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Maintenance, and Quality.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated and organized approach to managing assignments.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence is preferred.

- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- This position requires a background check, drug screen, and physical prior to starting. Interns are eligible for a 401K program, safety gear reimbursement, and a monthly housing stipend if living 50 miles or more from the location.
