About the role#
As a Quality Control Intern at Colas, you will gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. This role focuses on testing, gradation, and quality control for aggregate, asphalt, and ready mix products. You will work under direct supervision to apply classroom knowledge to real-world operations while receiving mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Support safety initiatives and follow all company policies, including the code of ethics.
- Inspect products for quality and take corrective action when needed.
- Report accurate test results on a daily basis.
- Review test data to identify causes of nonconformity with product specifications.
- Maintain knowledge of industry specifications and products related to construction, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt.
- Recommend improvements for quality control methods, equipment, and performance.
- Complete assigned projects as required.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and work in various weather conditions, often near heavy machinery.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program such as Civil Engineering, Quality Control, Construction Management, Geology, or a related field.
- A valid driver license and a clean driving history.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to solve problems in challenging situations.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous related experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

- Location: Paragould, Arkansas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time position.
- Travel: Occasional travel with overnight stays may be required to visit job sites.
