About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, you will gain hands-on experience in an inpatient setting. This role provides exposure to direct patient interactions and team collaboration to help prepare you for your future career in pharmacy. You will work full time during the summer and continue your work during the school year as your schedule allows.
What you'll do#
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related issues.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate patient care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy program.
- A current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before your start date.
- You must meet the education requirements to qualify for an Intern License in the State of Ohio or have international pharmacy experience that qualifies you for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License.
- Preference is given to those currently enrolled in a four-year or six-year program who are advancing from P1 to P2 or P3 to P4 during the upcoming academic year.
- Eligibility to participate in a three-summer pharmacy internship program.
