    About the role#

    The Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) is an innovative team within the Payments division of CIBC Capital Markets. Founded in 2013, the group focuses on technology-driven solutions across foreign exchange, payments, and money movement. You will join the team as a Student Analyst for a four-month summer term, working alongside experienced professionals to support product development, business strategy, and client engagement initiatives. Depending on business needs, you will be placed in either the Sales & Distribution team or the Product team.

    What you'll do#

    • Support product development, business strategy, and client engagement initiatives.
    • Analyze foreign exchange and cross-border payment solutions.
    • Formulate solution scope and objectives.
    • Validate requirements, testing, training, and implementation of applications.
    • Ensure execution of project control procedures and policies.
    • Analyze business opportunities and present recommendations.
    • Contribute to projects that support strategic growth objectives.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, STEM, or a related program with a graduation date no earlier than December 2027.
    • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills.
    • Keen interest in financial markets.
    • A record of academic success, teamwork, and extracurricular involvement.
    • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Preferred experience includes Salesforce, Python, Power BI, and coursework in Artificial Intelligence.

    • Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (May 2027 to August 2027).
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
