About the role#
As a Relationship Manager Intern, you will manage a portfolio of high value small business clients. You will provide financial advice to help these clients start, manage, and grow their enterprises. You will work alongside other RBC advisors and specialists to create a positive client experience. This role requires travel within the Greater St. John's market.
What you'll do#
- Build and grow client relationships by providing tailored financial advice.
- Reach out to clients proactively to understand their needs and changing circumstances.
- Plan your daily activities and introduce clients to RBC partners to meet their business and personal financial goals.
- Visit clients on-site to gain a deep understanding of their business objectives and operations.
- Manage risk and follow banking procedures, creating action plans when concerns arise.
- Encourage clients to use RBC mobile and online applications.
What you'll need#
- At least 2 years of relevant banking experience, ideally in a sales role.
- Skills in business development, client acquisition, and prospecting.
- Experience building and using Centres of Influence in the local business community.
- A proven track record in managing client relationships.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of credit, risk assessments, financial analysis, and deal presentations is an asset.
- Completion of the Commercial Banking Advisor training program or experience as a small business owner is preferred.
- Knowledge of a broad range of business and personal financial products.

- This is a full-time, paid position.
- The role is based in St. John's and Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador.
- You will work in a hybrid or on-site capacity.
