About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. You will work on a specific improvement project centered on milk yield, waste reduction, or operational efficiency. You will use data to find trends, determine root causes, and measure the results of your work.
What you'll do#
- Lead a process improvement project and coordinate its implementation.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify losses and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct studies of equipment and processes to evaluate performance.
- Apply principles from Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
- Build reports and metrics to monitor operational performance.
- Present your findings and recommendations to plant leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program in Engineering, Food Science, Business, or a related field.
- Completion of at least one year of major-specific coursework is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership of a project from start to finish.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to loud noise and varying temperatures.
- Interest in food manufacturing and plant operations.
