About the role#
The Administrative Fellowship Program is a one-year opportunity designed to transition graduate students into health care operations management. Fellows receive mentorship from the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the CHOP Care Network and other senior leaders. The program focuses on building management skills through special projects, leadership experiences, and exposure to the complex challenges of the healthcare environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including analyzing data, presenting findings, and implementing programs.
- Attend and contribute to senior management and board meetings.
- Build effective health care management skills by working with administrative, physician, and clinical leaders.
- Develop core competencies in operations, strategy, and finance.
- Lead the recruitment of the incoming Administrative Fellow.
- Perform related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated analytic ability and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods for the development and management of emergency preparedness programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A commitment to cultural competency and diversity in the workplace.
- Ability to maintain and operationalize emergency preparedness technologies.
- Academic background in fields such as Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, Operations Management, Finance, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
