About the role#
The Data Intern works with the Data Analyst to support organizational reporting, business intelligence, and daily data operations. This role provides hands-on experience in data analytics within a non-profit setting. Interns receive bi-weekly supervision and mentorship to support professional development and learning goals.
What you'll do#
- Gather, clean, and transform data for reporting and dashboard development.
- Create and maintain dashboards, logic models, and scorecards.
- Document data flows, relationships, and processes including ER diagrams and data dictionaries.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance tasks.
- Prepare reports for program evaluation, strategic planning, and committee participation.
- Organize and review program data across systems such as EHRs, BI platforms, Odoo, and FAMs.
- Support artificial intelligence initiatives and participate in relevant meetings or work groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Must be enrolled in an internship program and receiving school credit for internship hours.
- Foundational knowledge of data modeling, gathering, and cleansing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic SQL.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Sisense.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
